Every few weeks someone asks me about partner codes. Same question every time: do they give you free trades or discounted spreads?
Nope. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. The spread is the fee. A partner code won't affect it.
What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Bonus money added to your account based on deposit size. That's all it does.
What's the bonus amount?
Put in $1,000, receive $200 bonus.
Deposit $2,000 for $400 bonus.
$5,000-$9,999 earns you $1,000 bonus.
Maximum bonus is $14,000 for deposits above $100,000. Most people won't hit that.
UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Scales up to £11,200 maximum.
Account minimum is $100. Minimum for any bonus is $1,000.
The field is hidden
Registration page. After you enter your phone number, you'll see small text reading "Have a Partner Code?". Click the arrow. A field drops down. Type **128979**.
Easy to miss since it's collapsed by default.
Sometimes it shows as invalid, don't worry. Complete your registration. Message your account manager before you deposit. Request partner code 128979 be added. They do this manually all the time.
The bonus has conditions
A trading volume condition applies.
Around 10,000 units per dollar of bonus. $200 bonus requires 2,000,000 units of trading volume. Takes a while if you trade small. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.
Your deposit is yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. The bonus stays locked until avatrade partner code you hit the volume.
Worth mentioning: locked bonus funds still contribute to your margin. You can hold larger positions than your deposit alone would allow. For someone still learning, that buffer can keep you in the game long enough to figure things out.
